Large-scale pharmacological and genetic screen to study high-risk pediatric leukemia
Research project description
Large-scale pharmacological and genetic screen to study high-risk pediatric leukemia, including MLL-rearranged leukemia, and megakaryoblastic leukemia of childhood. Small molecule and crispr libraries will be used to identify leukemia specific functional dependencies, and ultimately bring forward novel therapeutic targets. The project is highly collaborative, involving researchers from multiple institutions, including IRIC, CHUL, and McGill, and funded through the Oncopole initiative. Characterization of pediatric leukemia samples benefits from outstanding support from the Quebec Leukemia Cell Bank and from the hematology-oncology division of CHU Sainte-Justine.
